The former Nomad Motel was built in 1962 and operated under that name until about 1970 when it became the Romney Motel. There were two associated Nomad Motels along Route 66 at the time, one in Ash Fork, AZ and the other Needles, CA. As the Romney Motel it became part of Romney Hotels International.

It is one of several mid-century motels on Route 66 in Seligman. The 30 room Nomad/Romney has been serving guests for over 50 years. It is included in the National Register of Historic Place: Seligman Historic District listing and it is also on the walking tour.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
