McConnico to Sitgreaves Pass

These landmarks are on the Oatman Road, also known as the Route 66 Back Country Byway which goes from a pretty straight and soothing ride to Cool Springs and on to what can be a nerve wracking edge of the world type drive as you navigate the many switchbacks on the climb to Sitgreaves Pass and then down the mountain a bit to Oatman.

xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
