The Sundown Motel is a small one story vintage motel that looks like it's probably more long term housing now. This was the site of the Jame's Courts in the late 40s and early 50s. The early for the Sundown Motel are in the mid-50s. I wonder if the old Jame's Courts cabins were just connected and the name changed to the Sundown Motel.

x There's a fairly large sign out front which looks like it has been standing there for more than a few years. In the 1960s there was a completely different large neon sign here. It looks like the base and two posts that supported the previous sign are still there.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
