The 1946 T & L Home and Auto Supply featured a Sinclair Service Station and Firestone Tires and Batteries. The Sinclair Station occupied the section on the left in this photo, including the two overhead garage doors, The Firestone stone seems to have occupied the rest. In the Firestone section the company also sold home appliances, televisions, radios, refrigerators freezers, washers, dryers, record players, bikes, trikes etc. More or less the perfect place fill your car with gas and pickup a stove at the same time.

Beginning in the mid-50s it seems like the Firestone and home goods store business changed names and maybe owners a number of times. I'm not sure about how long the Sinclair station lasted.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
