Big Texan Restaurant & Motel

7701 Interstate 40

East < GO > West

The Big Texan serves great food, highlighted by a 72 oz steak dinner . Too much? Well there's a ton of more manageable items on the menu. There's also a western themed motel on site. This is the second location for the Big Texan. It was originally located on the older alignment of Route 66, but moved here in the 1970's after I-40 opened and bypassed the old Route 66.

The motel is right next to the restaurant and shares the parking lot so you won't have far to go to get a good nights rest after eating that 72 ounce steak!

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
