The now closed Hillbillee's Cafe (1993) was formerly Larry's BBQ, and in the 1920s it was a Phillips 66 Station. The cafe closed in 2007 when the late Aubrey McClendon, the owner of POPS bought it.

x The cafe is just east of the Round Barn and stands in front of the former Hillbillee's BnB and next to the Biker Shak.

xThe closed Hillbillee's Bed & Breakfast Inn apparently started out as tourist cabins and later grew into what we see today.

xI haven't found a lot of history about the place, but I can imagine it was a lively little spot years ago.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
