Del's Restaurant has around since Del Akin built it in 1956 and the continued to operate it until 1978 when he sold it. The current owners bought it from their mother in 1995. For many years the owners of Del's also owned and operated Kix on 66 a former Denny's restaurant about a block to the west.

Did You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
