Kix on 66 is located in a 1960s Denny's. For many years Kix was owned
by the same family that owns Del's
Restaurant. They converted it to Kix in 2004 when Denny's moved to
a location closer to I-40. New owners took over at Kix in 2019. It is
only opened for breakfast and lunch. The Apache
Motel stands between the two restaurants. Kix also has a small variety
of Route 66 stuff for sale. We've eaten here several times over the years
and always enjoyed the experience.
About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane
road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned
lanes are still there.
