Joseph's restaurant has been operated by the Campos family since 1956.
It was formerly the La Fiesta Cafe and became Joseph's when the next generation
of Campos took over in 1985. La Fiesta started out as a drive -in and
became a full service restaurant after only a couple of years and later
became Santa Rosa's first cafeteria style restaurant. The building received
a couple of additions to accommodate a Route 66 gift shop and a bar.
The
Fat Man logo originally belonged to the Club Cafe which was located
down the street a bit . Several years after the Club Cafe closed in
1991 the Campos purchased that building and brought the logo to Joseph's.

About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
Did
You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane
road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned
lanes are still there.
