On
the west side of the building is one of the five murals painted in 2013
as part of the "Murals along the Mother Road" Competition.
This is part of the RETRO-Relive the Route, a non-profit Route 66 Revitalization
project. It is funded by the New Mexico MainStreet program and each
artist will receive $500 per mural. The artist of this mural is Elizabeth
Harris of Edgewood and the mural highlights the store.

You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane
road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned
lanes are still there.
