1940s Tillery's Garage Building

910 Old Hwy 66, Moriarty, NM
Phone: x

East < GO > West

This streamline style building is the former Tillery's Garage from the late 1940s. It has been used by several businesses since then. In 2006 it was the Route 66 Printing shop, 2013 it was KC's Restaurant, In 2016 it was Kick's arts and antique shop.

xOn the front of the building is one of the five murals painted in 2013 as part of the "Murals along the Mother Road" competition. This is part of the RETRO-Relive the Route, a non-profit Route 66 Revitalization project. It is funded by the New Mexico MainStreet program. The artist of this mural is Robin Matlack of Edgewood.

xThe service bay garage doors have been replaced by display windows. This 2013 photo shows the building as KC's Restaurant. The top photo is from 2019 and shows it as Kicks.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
