The Sands Motel has a sign right on Route 66 but the motel itself is actually a 1/2 block north of 66. They also offered a restaurant, a cocktail lounge, and a service station. In the 1970s the business was owned by Jim and Billie Shue.

The business still operates as a motel, The Googie style neon sign is pretty cool.
