In 2015 the former Town House Motel was operating as The Lodge. Construction and addition dates are listed as 1950's, 1960, 1963 and 1975. In the process the motel grew from 30 units to 67 or so. Later a restaurant was added to the property. This is another vintage motel where the swimming pool has sunken into the dustbin of history. They advertised that they featured Koylon Luxury (foam rubber) beds.

In 1963 the FCC granted KINO Radio a license to operate a studio in the Town House Motel. They moved to the then new Astro Motel, now the Motel 10, in late 1967 or early 1968.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
