In 2015 the former Tonto Rim Motel was the was the Winslow Rest Inn. According
to the Historic Resource Survey of Route 66 in Arizona it was built in
1946 with additional construction in 1951. With 20-22 guest rooms It's
a typical "U" shaped building with parking and the office/owners/managers
quarters in the courtyard. Heating was provided by Panel Ray units. The
motel featured tile baths, full carpeting and air conditioning. Some units
It's located on the west end of town.

You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane
road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned
lanes are still there.
