From the 1970s to 2000 the building housed an automotive upholstery shop, They added the gable roof above the original flat roof sometime in the 1970s. A new owner bought the building in 2000. This station is directly across the road from LaPosada and the Highway Diner. The 2012 Route 66 In Arizona Historic Resource Survey lists dates for the building as "Post 1940" and 1958.

Did
You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane
road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned
lanes are still there.
