The 1954 former Sand N Sage Motel had 19 units. Some of those had carports which have since been closed in, probably to create more guest rooms. A really unusual feature for a small motel was the indoor heated swimming pool. The 1964/65 AAA Tour Book lists room rates for this motel from $7.00 to $10.00. More recently 1990 to 2011 or so it was the Economy Inn, By 2012 it was the Cornerstone Apartments, but even that was fenced off when this photo was taken in the spring of 2015. The motel had direct access from both eastbound 2nd St. and westbound 3rd St. The motel had a large sign where the small sign is in this photo.
