This is the oldest continually operating Route 66 motel in Winslow. It was built in the late 1940s and remodeled in 1952 to look like it does in this 2012 photo. Originally it was called the Marble Motel owned and operated by Mr.& Mrs. Rex Marble. In 1974 Lee & Floranel Earl bought it and then operated the motel for may years. Angela Archibeque and Blas Sanchez purchased the motel in 2018.

xNotice the sign "Sleeping on the corner in Winslow, Arizona", a neat play on the "Standing on A Corner in Winslow Arizona" theme. If my count is right, there are 58 lightbulbs strung around the edge of the sign, on each side.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
