The Oldham County Courthouse was built in 1915 in a Classic Revival style when the county seat was moved from Tascosa to Vega. An earlier alignment of Route 66 ran in front of the Courthouse.

In 1967 the original hipped roof was removed. An addition was built on the north side and the jail attached to the south. It is located at 105 S. Main St., that at the intersection of Main Street and Main Street. There are several monuments on the courthouse grounds.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
