A Grand Opening open house for the new 24 unit Western Motel and Restaurant on April 2, 1965. Among other amenities there was a large meeting room on the second floor. About a year later it was sold to new owners and another year later it was sold again. As of 2021 the motel has apparently been owned by the same family for something like 20 years.

The motel has been remodeled at some point including addition of the structure surrounding the stairs to the second floor shown at the far right in this photo.

The motel is right across the street from the U-Drop-Inn on historic Route 66.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
