Clay's Body Shop, also known as Clay Motor Company, was established in 1947 and closed in 2013 according to an article in the local paper. At different times it was a Studebaker dealer. In 1957 as the Clay-Tucker Motor Company it became an Edsel dealership. The Edsel dealership didn't last long because the car was only built from 1957 to 1960. When this photo was taken in 2012 the sign said Clay's Body Shop.

x Notice the old car and trucks behind the fence. Cool! Any one of these could have driven Route 66 in their day. The car on the far left in this photo is a late 50's or early 60's Studebaker Hawk.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
