The former Golden Spread Grill is now "the Grill". It is right across the street from the former Golden Spread Motel. The motel was built in 1953, the cafe in 1957. Mrs Ruby Denton helped open the cafe in 1957, soon took over the place and and was still there in 1990.

Did You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
