The elevator is known for the "Yukon's Best Flour"sign, illuminated with bulbs, not neon. The sign was placed on top of the mill in the 1940s. The Friends of Yukon's Best, Inc. raised funds to refurbish with LED lighting and the sign was relit in 2013 as seen above.

x The Yukon Mill and Grain Co built this mill and elevator in 1902. It is located at W. Main (RT 66) and 3rd St. It's no longer a working mill the building is now used for grain storage.

The bottom line on the sign painted on the building declares Yukon as the "Czech capitol of Oklahoma".

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
