The Route 66 Inn at Vinita sports a colorful sign that's hard to miss. If my count is right it takes 180 incandescent bulbs to light the arrow on this sign, 90 on each side. That's not counting whatever lighting is inside the main sign can. The very cool sign was still in place in March of 2023. According to the 1964 AAA Tour Book the motel offered 18 rooms with rates from &6.00 to $10.00.

This used to be the Holiday Motel. In 2012 when we snapped the photos a sign out front lists monthly and weekly rates, in 2023 a sign said apartments for rent. So the motel concept here is history.

Here is the view as you approach the motel as you head west on the Mother Road.
