This old Marathon station was built in 1934, sadly it has been severely
altered by the removal of the porte cochere over the pump island, you
can see some of the damage at the damaged parapet on the left in this
photo. By the late 1930s it had become a Sinclair Service Station which
lasted until at least the late 50s or early 60s. There is a D-X sign hanging
on the end of the building.

road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned
lanes are still there.
