This building now is Sayre's City Hall, but it was built in 1905 as the First National Bank. The building's design was extended to the adjacent 1907 Flournoy Building building in 1909 by the original architect/builder, W. M. Rice. The original bank building only went as far as the right side of the two ground floor windows. After 1925 the building became C.R. Anthony Department Store.

There are three historic marker plaques near the flag pole on Main Street. 1969 First Place in Division Two Community Achievement Contest

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
