The bronze sculpture "Library Boy 1"on the corner by the Miami Public Library was created by Mischell Riley. The Library Boy been stolen twice, but happily he was back in place when we went by in 2016. He sits right across the street from the Generations sculpture.

xIn 1962 this building replaced the 1921 Carnegie library on the same site, actually apparently on the same foundation. A 1987 addition to the back of the 1962 building houses the childrens section.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
