This was originally built in 1939 as officer's baracks and then turned into a hospital in the mid 1940s. In 1948 or 49 the US Congress transferred Fort Reno from the Army to the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture). for agricultural research. The building was significantly updated in 1999.

xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
