This building was the Chandler National Guard Armory which was built in 1936 as a WPA project. It is now the Chandler Route 66 Interpretive Center featuring a nostalgic trip down "The Mother Road".

xIt is open Tues - Sat 10-5 and located at Route 66 & Mickey Clarkson Ave. It was placed on the NRHP in1991

xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
