About 4.5 miles west of the Fort Reno Road this unmarked 4 way stop is
where you turn north on the 1926 to 1932 alignment that takes you through
Calumet & Geary. Even with a 4 way stop
this turn is easy to miss. Look for the clump of trees and wide shoulder
on the northwest corner of the intersection. There used to be an old Magnolia
gas station on the NW corner, but that's gone.

This intersection is where the 1933 El Reno Cutoff begins. If you go
keep going west here the Cutoff takes you about 7 miles to Hwy. 281
and north on 281 about 2.4 miles to where you turn west onto Bridgeport
Hill.

You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane
road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned
lanes are still there.
