East < GO > West

The Tank farm Loop road was constructed in 1925 and a year later became part of the original alignment of Route 66, it was bypassed in 1938. This was an oil production area and there are still a few oil storage tanks and an oil pump jack located here. This road was part of the Federal Aid Project 158 paving the road from Sapulpa to Bristow. The Tank Farm Road was placed on the Nation Register of Historic Places in 2006.

The Route 66 Tank Farm Loop is about .6 miles west of the bridge over I-44.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
