Building of the Neo-Classical style Creek Masonic Lodge was first announced in 1916. Locating a site and planning the building and raising the money needed took time, but by March of 2017 they were ready to start and by 1918 the building was open.

This was during WWl and raising the needed $60.000.00 may have been a bit difficult but a local oil man named B. B. Jones offered to put up what ever was needed to finish the building.

The original plan called for the building to feature public rest room, public library, gymnasium, bathroom, and a second floor assembly hall. Some of that might have been left out of the construction because by 1922 the building underwent a significant remodeling. The library had to move out during the remodeling and ended up storing their books in a borrowed room at a nearby school.

xA sign stands out front. I'm not sure about the status of the building, but in recent years the Masons have apparently opened it up as a Haunted House as a fundraising event at Halloween

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
