The former Whiting Brothers Motel is now the Sunset Motel. I've found very little information about this motel I'd guess that it was built in the 1950s. The second floor is probably an owners or managers apartment.

This is at least a second version of the sign.

Did You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
