This old gas station and store was also the U. S. Post Office and a Greyhound Bus stop in Newkirk for many years. It is on Route 66 just east of NM 129 at the I-40, exit 300. Route 66 is the north frontage road here.

The old store and post office was established in 1910.

The stone walls of the old store probably account for why it has lasted as long as it has.
