When the highway was realigned in the early 1950s they moved the buildings and business 150 feet to where it stands now. That move included a complete remodeling of the dining room and the addition of a bay widow where a door had been. At some later time the added the motel on the west side of the restaurant. GPS: 38.336935,-91.017472 The former Scully's, now the Agape House, stands across the street
from the VFW/Skylark Motel. Agape House is a Human Services Agency.
Geneva Scully donated the property including the motel and restaurant to the Agape House. They have been there since 1985 and it had been vacant then for 17 years. Photo(s): 2018

Agape
House now occupies Scully Motel & Restaurant property.
Postcards
show gas pumps by the restaurant. At some point those disappeared and
this Standard Oil Station was built on the corner. The Standard Station
was operating in the very early 1960s.

Did
You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane
road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned
lanes are still there.
