Wishing Well Motel

3550 W. Chestnut, Springfield, MO
Phone:x

East < GO > West

This motel opened in 1947 with 17 units that had garages. There was a wishing well in the courtyard. The motel has been heavily remodeled over the years and the garages are gone as is the wishing well.

They still have a pretty cool sign out front. The motel is just to the west of a McDonald's Restaurant. The sign is a cool photo op even if the motel has apparently been converted to long term rentals.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
