Mason's Log Cabin Station & Store

The former site of the Masons Log Cabin Station and Store is on the left in this photo. A couple of newspaper articles in 1998 and 1999 featured Dottie "Dot" Mason, the long time proprietor, and mentioned that the building had been located here for 100 years at that time. The station apparently closed around the year 2000. The station stood here until 2009.

These signs for the Hwy. 96 and Hwy. 266 appear just before the station site. You can see the intersection in this photo. When you leave the Log Cabin site go straight ahead on old Route 66 at this intersection to get to theGay Parita Sinclair Station.

The little Log Cabin station and store was tight up against the east side of the tree on the right side of this photo. They are hard to see in this photo, but there were still four individual concrete pump islands in the drive when we snapped this photo in 2016.

xThe ruins of a large rock barn stands a on the east side of the station driveway.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
