The two murals located at the Route 66 Mural Park were created by Images in Tile. The top mural, "Cruisin" into Joplin consists of 540 tiles and the other mural, The American Ribbon consists of 180 tiles. The tiles are reportedly designed to withstand the elements without fading.

The murals were dedicated in August 2013 and a rbbon cutting took place in March 2014. One-half of a 1964 Corvette was embedded in the bottom mural after this photo was taken.

The murals are located on the Pearl Brothers Hardware building, just off the intersection where two alignments of Route 66 meet at Main St. and 7th St.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
