This 1930s cafe building had been moved to this location by the time Mary Maynard bought it in 1953. There was also a gas station here, but that apparently burned down in the 1970s. The Maynard's lived in the residence next door and some of their employees lived in a cabin which is, or was, behind the small shed with the white door.

The Ozark "Giraffe" style stone faced main building looked pretty distressed when we went by in 2016.

It is located shortly west of White Oak Creek and east of Cty. Rd. 30 on the north side.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
