The American Legion Auxiliary of Livingston was instrumental in getting this Veterans Memorial built in the John Slifka Memorial Park located at Henry & Rodenberg Streets in Livingston. The park and memorial monument are across the road from the Country Inn Motel & Cafe on Henry Street, south of I-55 Exit 37.

"DEDICATED MAY 31, 1999
IN HONOR AND MEMORY
OF ALL VETERANS
WHO SERVED IN THE
PRESERVATION OF
FREEDOM
"

The park is also known as John Slifka Memorial Park named in honor of Spec. 5 John J. Slifka who was killed in action in Vietnam in 1968.
