The original sanctuary of this church, the white portion in this photo, was built in 1858. But before that the church members built a log schoolhouse that they used for church meetings until they built the sanctuary. That was the first schoolhouse in the area. The church is across the street from the former Dome Restaurant and about a block east of the Wolfs Head Restaurant.

The new sanctuary, the brick section of the building in this photo, was built in 1960.

The adjacent cemetery was organized in 1848.
