An extensive renovation of this building means it looks completely different than this 2018 photo, by 2019 the second floor windows had been replaced and the whole front of the building had been rehabbed and restyled more in character with many of the buildings from the late 1800s and early 1900s on Main Street. This building is right across the street from the clock.

It's was actually two building originally, the 2 second floor windows on the left represent the building at 229 Main St. and the other three second floor windows represent the 231/3 Main Street section of the combined building.

The Moose Club bought the 231/3 Wheeler block building in 1940 and the 229 building in 1955. After the Moose bought the 229 building they remodeled the front of the two buildings to look like one building, which resulted in the design in the photo above.

In 2019 new owners turned the second floor into a co-working space called The Lodge and place a Moose symbol on the front as a nod to the buildings history.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
