This cool mural is on the wall of the building next to next to the Miller-Davis Building. It is easily seen from the street. Students from the Regional Alternative School (RAS) painted the "Second Chances" mural. The young people shown in the mural were students at the school. The Phoenix Rising represents second chances and what those second chances can mean to a person, that being a shift from despair to hope.

The students were guided through the process by Joel Bergner, an artist who graduated from nearby Normal Community High School. The mural was done in October 2013.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
