The 1903 McLean County Courthouse now houses the County Historical Museum and Route 66 Welcome Center. The place is packed with interesting local history including that of the Mother Road in the area. The Welcome Center isn't that big, but you can easily spend hours here if you wander through the history museum.

The building was used as the county courthouse until 1976. The building was used as the county courthouse until 1976. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. Lincoln practiced law here in a previous courthouse from 1837 to 1860.

x The Lincoln Bench in front of the Courthouse was created in 2000 by sculptor Rick Harney. This is about the most casual and relaxed sculpture of Lincoln I've ever seen. It makes for great photo opportunities, so sit right down next to Honest Abe tell him how your trip is going and rest a spell.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
