The former Atlanta National Bank building was occupied by a bar when we went by in 2016. The bank purchased and renovated this building in 1916. They brought their 7,500 pound safe with them in the move from their previous location in the Downey building on Arch St. The bank stayed in this building until 1973 when it moved to a new location.

Turn around and backtrack to cross Arch St. to find the Fire House and mural on E. Vine St.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
