The old Ludlow Garage is one of several building ruins in Ludlow. It stands just a bit east of the old Ludlow Cafe at the intersection of Route 66 and Elliot St, just across the road from the Pendergast Motel.

Faded lettering on the front wall advertises services and products such as arc welding, generators, regulators, water pumps, fuel pumps and 24 hour towing.

A 1931 help wanted ad appeared in the Los Angeles Times newspaper seeking a "Man -- A reliable good bookkeeper for business on the desert. Address Ludlow Garage, Ludlow, California". I'm not sure if that ad was for this garage in this building or an earlier building and location.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
