Former Mayfair Motel

The 1962 Mayfair Motel has a couple of really cool murals on the street sides of the buildings. There was a tall sign that was easily seen from the highway, it's long gone now. According to a real estate listing the motel had 21 units. It is now long term rental apartments. There's a large courtyard between the buildings, which makes me wonder if there was a swimming pool there at some time.

xBoth buildings have really cool murals painted on the ends that face the street. The paint has failed in a couple of spots on this mural.

xThe second mural features a lone cowboy. I haven't found who painted these murals yet.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
