This is one of three old house style gas station buildings on 2nd Street
in Winslow which was apparently built in 1937. In 1958 it became as the
La Siesta Union Service Station and Coffee Shop operated by Phil and Louise
Hesch. By 1968 it was Walts Rock Shop. In 1970 the Army was apparently
parking a recruiting trailer here from time to time before they opened
a permanent office in the La
Siesta Motel next door..
