This photo of the old Hull's Motel was snapped in 2013, since then the place has a new name, the Star Motel as of 2018. That's another in a line of several name changes over the years. John & Myrtle Smart purchased the 12 unit Hull's Hotel Cottages in the 1940s and it became Hull's Motel. The cottages were connected to form 17 units with enclosed garages. Myrtle ran the motel until 1958.

x The motel is one of several in Williams that have served travelers on America's Main Street for decades and still was serving them when this photo was taken in 2013. Construction and major remodeling or addition dates are listed as c. 1915, 1940, and 1960. It is right across the Street from Pete's Gas Station Museum.

Note: The motel went through several physical and name changes over the years. Like many vintage lodgings they didn't see the need to provide an actual street/mailing address.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
