East < GO > West

This is a drive through wildlife park located just SW of I-40 exit 165 at Hwy. 64. Look for the bears wolves, bison, and mountain goats and who whatever other critters might be roaming around. Hwy. 64 from the exit through Williams is the original Route 66.

xThere are a couple of sections of the old 1932-1984 alignment of 66 that are bisected by Highway 51a (Bearizona Blvd.) that takes you to the entrance to Bearizona. This is looking southwest.

xThis is looking northeast.

Note: If you follow 51a east it takes you to E. Mountainman Trail which is the 1926-31 alignment of Route 66, parts of which are a rough dirt road and sometimes muddy. Going east on 51a from the Bearizona entrance the old road begins at the cattle guard and goes for about 2 miles to the stop sign at Hwy. 146. You can turn north there to get back on I-40 at exit 167.

x About Us We started traveling Historic U.S. Route 66 as a destination in 2009. It's like a 2,400 mile long drive back in time from Chicago to Santa Monica! more
xDid You Know: Many parts of the old 4 lane Route 66 were reverted to a 2 lane road after 66 was realigned to the interstate. In many places the abandoned lanes are still there.
