The old Cowgill's is gone, Gas-n-Grub is now at the same address. But the old directional sign is still standing.

There's a huge Historic Route 66 shield on the front of the hay barn.

Usually when you see these signs they list the milage to the different cities and towns along the Mother Road. This one only names the communities, and not exactly in the correct geographic order. Kansas City snuck into the list, it's a fine American City, but don't be fooled, it aint on Route 66! The small shield on the top of the sign post says "Gas & Grub 66".
